Frassinelli was chosen through a competitive juried process. He included pieces from his May 2018 show, The Pianista Traveling Museum, which was the culmination of his “Legend of the Pianistas” series that began in the Dana Art Gallery in February 2004. His candidacy for the residency was also supported by the many Dana Hall students who received regional and national 2019 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, including D. Lu ’24 who earned a Gold Medal for her painting, Back in Time. Frassinelli and Lu received their awards at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Thursday, June 6.
"My favorite Dana Hall memory would be the first time I ever sang the Alma Mater with my fellow classmates. That was most definitely the first time I felt like I was truly a part of something. Joining hands with my future Silver Sisters made me truly feel like I was a Dana girl."
