          Thanks and Giving

At Thanksgiving Convocation on Tuesday, November 26, the Dana Hall community gathered in Bardwell Auditorium to reflect on the many things for which it is thankful. Middle School Co-Presidents from each grade read poems or gave messages of thanks.

For more than three decades, Dana Hall has supported the Union United Methodist Church Food Pantry’s efforts to provide Thanksgiving meals for families. During Convocation, Community Service Advisory Board Co-Heads C. Breslin ’20 and J. Burke ’20 presented the church’s Rev. Dr. Jay Williams with a check to purchase Thanksgiving turkeys. In addition to the funds raised through raffle ticket sales, advisor groups collected and put together “turkey boxes” filled with the trimmings that traditionally accompany a Thanksgiving meal; each box should supply dinner for 4–6 people.

An arm-in-arm singing of the Alma Mater marked the end of Convocation and the start of Thanksgiving Break. Classes will resume on Tuesday, December 3.

"My favorite Dana Hall memory would be the first time I ever sang the Alma Mater with my fellow classmates. That was most definitely the first time I felt like I was truly a part of something. Joining hands with my future Silver Sisters made me truly feel like I was a Dana girl."
